Here’s a short film featuring David Bowie, a genuine oddity, wherein he plays a painting come to life. At times it reminds me of Scarlett Johansen’s film ‘Under the Skin’. Apparently it was banned for excessive violence. How things change. http://www.openculture.com/2016/03/watch-david-bowie-star-in-his-first-film-role-a-short-horror-flick-called-the-image-1967.html
James Thurber had a fantastically wry take on the world, and this is a wonderful piece of domestic drama, the ultimate revenge on a spouse. Would never happen today of course. http://www.openculture.com/2015/03/james-thurbers-unicorn-in-the-garden-animated.html
Things got out of…hand.
Here’s a truly spooky very short short for Hallowe’en, Doodlebug by British filmmaker Christopher Nolan. It must be good – it’s in black and white. Reminds me of a few classic sci fi short stories. Maybe best not to watch this alone. http://www.openculture.com/2013/10/christopher-nolans-first-short-doodlebug.html
