Avian Arsonists

This is a rather amazing article from JSTOR on Australian birds of prey setting fires in order to flush out animals they hunt. Lots of animals take advantage of and adapt to changing circumstances, but this is the first of its kind. It’s impressive, but scary, and raises questions as to how dangerous such behaviour is to other animals, in a continent where fires cause so much loss of property and life.
