Here’s a PIC of a copper ring given to me by an itinerant jeweller/coppersmith. He tells me such ring were thrown into the Severn Estuary from 250BC – 150 AD by the Silure tribes of St Wales. They dug trenches in the estuary followed by salmon migrating, so trapped in their nets. Seems the rings were thrown in to appease the river God. Hope nobody throws me into a river when I’m wearing it.
