Why the Man Wore Black

This is the first performance by Johnny Cash of his song, ‘Man in Black’ which was inspired by his discussions with university students and shows why the man became such an icon.  the fact that he never stopped wearing black says much about the so-called American Dream.

    • More than interesting, he is hugely important in the history of america and of music. He straddles so many kinds of music, brouhgt country into the modern world, discovered Kris Kristopherson, he married into the Carter family who were the first recording stars, and he has inspired so many people that Bob Dylan said he built the rails the rest of us travel on.
