Russell’s Busy Making a Boat

A few snippets from today’s Independent – or rather the baby, i version.

Apparently Russell Crowe has been rumoured to be about to play media mogul Rupert Murdoch, but he has the best excuse ever. He is getting ready to play the role of Noah.

“I am off to build a boat. Will be gone fro quite some time. No sails, no engine, runs purely on faith.” I had no idea he was such a funny tweeter.

And in Germany, judges have just passed a ruling that “circumcision contravenes the interests of the child to decide later on in life abut his religious beliefs and the fundamental right of the child to bodily integrity outweighs the fundamental rights of the parents.”

A brave decision, but if their intention was to piss off the Jews and Moslems, they’ve done a good job of it.

And in Argentina a bishop has resigned after being photographed frolicking on a Mexican beach with a woman in a bikini. Hmmmmmm

The state is having problems with religious practices, and conservative religions are increasingly conflicting with liberalism. Such chaos is prime breeding grounds for strong leaders – like Thatcher, Hitler, Stalin….
